  • We were contacted to pursue a Noise Induced Hearing Loss claim.
  • Mr H was awarded £8,750 in compensation for his hearing loss.

The Case

Mr H worked in the shipyard, through a variety of subcontractors for nearly 8 years. Mr H was would have particularly been exposed to noise from shot blasters, needle guns and sprayers. Despite the high levels of noise emitted from the work being done, his employers never provided him with any hearing protection.

The Claim

Mr H attended with his GP after noticing that his hearing wasn’t what it once was. Mr H was then made aware that the noise he was exposed to throughout his working life, could have had a part to play.

Our solicitor Danielle Catterson dealt with the claim on Mr H’s behalf and arranged for him to undergo a hearing test and examination with an ENT consultant. The appointed expert agreed that Mr H’s hearing difficulties were in fact as a result of noise damage over the years.

The Settlement

Solicitors were instructed on behalf of the relevant subcontractors, and it was arranged for Mr H to be examined by their appointed ENT expert. Once this assessment took place, and all medical evidence concluded, Danielle entered settlement negotiations for Mr H, obtaining £8,750 in compensation.
