- Miss N was employed by Daintifyt for 20 years.
- Miss N noticed her hearing was reduced since her employment and her also had ringing in her ears that affected her daily life.
- We were contacted to pursue a Noise Induced Hearing Loss Claim.
- Miss N was awarded £22,500 in compensation for her hearing loss and tinnitus.
The Case
Miss N left school and started working in the Daintifyt factory when she was just 17. She was employed as a machinist and throughout the course of her employment, she was responsible for operating sewing machines, overlockers and bar tackers. Miss N was exposed to excessive noise from these machines daily and was never provided any hearing protection by her employer.
The Claim
Miss N contacted Reid Black Solicitors to discuss a potential hearing loss claim after being told by previous colleagues how we might be able to help.
Our Solicitor Danielle Catterson arranged for Miss N to be examined by an ENT consultant, who provided us with a report confirming that the excessive noise exposure in Daintifyt did in fact cause her hearing loss and tinnitus.
The Settlement
Daintifyt’s solicitors arranged for Miss N to attend with the defence medical expert who also agreed that she had both noise induced hearing loss and tinnitus. Given these conclusions, Danielle was able to discuss settlement on Miss N’s behalf, and she was awarded £22,500, a result which she was delighted with.
