Reid Black Solicitors continue to lead the way in the PSNI Data Breach Litigation having been the first legal firm to issue Court proceedings.

Following two recent reviews before the High Court Judge, Mr Justice Colton, a Group Litigation Order has now been made on foot of our application to the Court and furthermore a date has been set for a liability hearing.

As our clients will be aware we have argued that the most practical and efficient way to deal with these cases was by way of a Group Litigation Order (GLO). As the first firm take the matter to Court we feel that we have had the most time to assess the situation and understand the best way to support and compensate those affected by the breach.

Our position to the Court has always been to progress these matters as quickly and efficiently as possible. The next step in this process is to have a liability hearing and this is scheduled to take place on 26th June.

If you were a victim of the PSNI Data Breach and have not yet formally instructed solicitors, we suggest that they do so now given that matters are progressing to hearing soon. Failure to register with a solicitor may prejudice the right to make a claim.
